Kelly Rochotte’s passion for helping people when they need it most led her to become an attorney. After working for eight years as a litigation paralegal, Kelly put herself through law school at night and graduated with highest honors. Now, she devotes her practice to guiding people through the legal process in employment discrimination, wrongful termination, civil rights, and housing discrimination cases.
Kelly prides herself on protecting her clients’ rights with tenacity, compassion, and clear, straightforward advice. Before joining Bolek Besser Glesius, she practiced in the areas of family law, real estate, and consumer protection. That broad range of legal experience helps her see the bigger picture and guide clients to make decisions that are in their best interests.
Kelly is a dedicated volunteer in the legal community as well, frequently working with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and in particular its Right to Counsel program. She currently serves as vice chair for the Ethics and Professionalism Committee of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. In addition, Kelly is a member of the Ohio Women’s Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys, and the American Bar Association.
Some of Kelly’s recent legal highlights include:
- Obtaining more than $300,000 in relief for victims of a large-scale Cleveland real estate wire fraud scheme;
- Successfully appealing a complex real estate boundary dispute in the Eighth District Court of Appeals in Cuyahoga County;
- Defending a wrongful foreclosure action against a national banking institution, giving a family their house and peace of mind;
- Assisting Cleveland tenants in navigating the legal process, avoiding an eviction on their records, and in many cases, obtaining financial assistance for past-due rent; and,
- Negotiating on behalf of several local small business owners after they suffered damages following city-backed construction projects.
Kelly earned her bachelor’s degree in English at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2009, and a master’s degree in literature and rhetoric from the University of Toledo in 2012, where she taught as an adjunct professor of rhetoric and composition. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2022, where she earned top honors in Trial Practice and Advocacy, Property Law, and Federal Taxation. She is admitted to practice in the state of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
A classically trained pianist and studio drummer, she enjoys playing music, reading, and trail hiking in her free time. Kelly lives on the east side of Cleveland with her husband, son, and their cat, Marzipan.
